We are incredibly proud of the success of our school's robotics team, iRobot, as, for the first time, a Greek team climbed onto the podium of the world champions, making all of us proud! The 2nd place awards the team’s total effort with regard to the Innovation Project, the Robot Game & Core Values. Kessaris robotics team competing with 80 teams from around the world at the FLL World Competition held in Los Angeles, USA, May 12 - 14 managed to score 400 points in the Robot Game proving that nothing is impossible.
The team's Project "Anaerobic Orbiter" impressed the judges since it is the 1st anaerobic reactor that produces electricity from cigarette butts and other waste materials. This reactor is ready to be used on a larger scale by a Municipality, which will pay for itself in just 4 years. The original reactor presented at the FLL World Competition in America is 100% functional leaving a lasting impression.
We would like to thank our team’s sponsors Polyeco SA, Mytilineos SA, Corinth Pipeworks, Affidea Greece, Zorzou's house, Vector Brands, ARK, Hellenic Recycling Organization, Municipality of Nea Smyrni, Eunice Energy Group, Vlamis Yachts & Yacht Management, FILA Greece, and Lavdas Candies that proved to be valuable and useful.
Congratulations to our students and coaches who, working hard and cooperating went above and beyond managing success.
Throughout the years, the iRobot team, whose motto is ‘One team-One Spirit’ managed to achieve a number of distinctions and overcome difficulties establishing itself as a top robotics team.
