Curriculum Enrichment

  • English

    Students are grouped in small, homogeneous levels. Our experienced teachers and our program ensure language acquisition without the need for additional lessons in language schools and our students take the exams for the Cambridge and Michigan diplomas  with very high success rates.

  • Sports

    The aim of sports activities is to assist students to find and maintain mental, physical, spiritual and emotional balance. Having perfected the techniques of various sports, students form the school football, volleyball and basketball teams. They train and participate in the respective inter school tournaments.

    The objectives of the Physical Education program are:

    • To learn the basic techniques of sports and to prepare for participation in team and individual events.

    • To cultivate kinetic expression.

    • To preserve traditions by learning folk dances and traditional games.

    • To achieve physical fitness.

    • To develop collective values and principles such as cooperation, honesty ("fair play") and self-discipline.

  • Projects

    Both research and experience have taught us that the best way for someone to learn is to be actively involved in the subject. For this reason, we assign our students projects (in a group  or individual level) based on the subjects they are taught.For the most part, the completed projects are presented to classmates and parents, giving children the opportunity to cultivate their capacity for public speaking.

  • Digital Education

    21st century skills, including digital literacy are an important part of our educational program. To facilitate this, our school:

    • Has modern equipment in all classrooms with interactive whiteboards, computers and projectors.

    • Continuously trains teachers in technology connectivity issues in teaching.

    • Creatively engages students, enabling them to work in learning computing environments.

    • Provides additional learning through distance learning (e-learning) with platform operation in which students have access to video lessons, presentations, interactive exercises.

  • School Vocational Guidance

    At Kessaris School, with seriousness and professionalism, we help our students to make the best study and profession choices and properly plan their career. With individual and group counseling in the classroom or in personal meetings, expert associates of our school are trying to highlight the capabilities and inclinations of each child.

    In the first grade of Lyceum, the creation of a personal skills folder (e-folder) for each student contributes to the enhancement of skills, interests and talents. This folder helps to identify personal and educational goals.

    All the information collected concerning university and college faculties, professions and the labour market are at the disposal of the students. They are also given assistance with the preparation and completion of computer cards, application forms, reference letters and whatever else is necessary for entry into tertiary education in Greece.

    Career Gate 17R Test

    Kessaris School is an accredited center for the administration of the Career Gate 17R Test, which is a recognized test that investigates the educational and professional interests of students. They have been tested for reliability and validity, are user-friendly and the resulting report clearly states the students’ educational and professional profile, inclinations and talents.

    With continuous training, the teachers responsible for the program evaluate the career interests and the Career Gate 17K Test, interpret the results and advise students.

    Kessaris School believes in experiential learning ,and for this reason, distinguished professionals from all walks of life are invited to our school to talk to our children about their studies and their professional development.

    Europass

    Our desire for effective vocational guidance in Lyceum has led us to the creation and completion of Europass, a set of personal documents in a common European framework.

    Entrepreneurship

    We cooperate with organizations and institutions that promote healthy entrepreneurship and we organize visits to business premises being constantly informed about what is happening in the market.

    Visits to Universities

    Every year our students attend selected courses at universities in accordance with their preferences. The Athens  Law School,the National Technical University of Athens, the Medical School and Economics Universities of Athens and Piraeus host students from our school every year.

  • Optional Activities

    Theatre Club

    With the guidance of experienced and specialized educators, the theater group of the Gymnasium - Lyceum "Ark of Dreams" prepares and presents plays by Greek and foreign playwrights. At the same time, their participation in organized performances enhances the students’ ability to work as a team. Finally, acting in plays significantly boosts students’ confidence.

    Forensics Club

    The forensics club operates in English and Greek, and is designed to develop the rhetorical ability of students. By participating in speech competitions (debate) students are trained to develop argumentation, support their reasoning, accept opposing ideas and engage in refined dialogue. In this way, fanaticism is avoided  while critical thought and mutual respect are promoted. During the school year, teams are prepared for their participation in inter school competitions in which many awards are won.
